Strawberry Festival Vendor Deadline Is May 30th
If you’re a Vendor or Merchant interested in having a booth at the upcoming annual Burien Strawberry Festival (Sat. June 28th from 10am-6pm & Sunday June 29th from 10am-5pm), registrations/applications are due by Friday, May 30, 2008 by 5pm.

It’s a simple walk-through “wizard” that asks you questions about your business/craft and lets you apply easily online.
Here’s some more info from the festival website:
If you are selected to be a Festival vendor, a “welcome packet” will be mailed to you by JuneÂ 8, 2008Â with the move-in details including booth assignments, location maps, and load-in instructions.
All applications and photos submitted of the merchandise you plan to sellÂ are reviewed by a selection committee for quality and originality. Application and past participation does not guarantee acceptance. If your application is not selected, a full refund will be returned to the applicant.
Artists are required to submit two product color photos. At the time of registration you have the option of e-mailing the photos to [email protected] or you can mail in digital photos on disc or originals. Photos are only returned to the applicant if a letter size, self-addressed stamped envelope with correct postage is included with the application.
Arts, Crafts, Gift Foods, Information/Non-profit, Business/Commercial andÂ Activity booth spaces are 10’x10′. If you need a larger space you can purchase two 10â€™x10â€™ spaces. Food Vendor booth space is 10’x15′. Vendors are responsible for providing their own booth structure. No stakes may be used in any park or grassy areas. No items, signs, banners or booth anchor lines are to be attached to trees or shrubs. The booth structure must be self-standing and, if appropriate, weighted by means that are not a trip hazard or affixed to the ground or any other structure.
Booth Fees are refunded if a vendor’s cancellation request is received by May 30, 2008. A $20 processing fee will be charged.
Food Vendors shall procure and maintain in full force throughout the duration of the Agreement, commercial general liability insurance with a minimum coverage of $1,000,000 per occurrence/aggregate for personal injury and property damage. Such policy shall name the City of Burien as an additional named insured and shall include a provision prohibiting cancellation or reduction in the amount of said policy except upon 30 days prior written notice to the City.
Limited electricity is available for Vendor booths for an additional fee to be determined by approved electrician.
Garbage and Recycling
Vendors are responsible for placing non-recyclable trash in dumpsters rather than the Festival garbage cans. All recyclable cardboard must be broken down and taken to a recycling dumpster. Vendors are responsible for bringing a wastebasket for inside the booth. Vendors are responsible for leaving their booth space clean before departure at close of event.
Hours of Operation
Festival hours are Saturday, June 28, from 10am to 6pm, and Sunday, June 29, from 10am to 5pm. All vendors must be open during this time.
Artists are responsible for collecting, reporting, and paying WA state sales tax to the State of Washington under Sales Tax Code #1714.
Vendors are required to report their total gross sales to City of Burien no later than Sunday, June 29 at 8pm. This information is used only to evaluate the Festival.Â It is not reported to any entities or shared with other organizations. Failure to report will make a Vendor ineligible for future City of Burien sponsored festivals and events.
Food vendors are required to obtain a Temporary Food Establishment Permit or Mobile Food Establishment Permit. Need help getting started? After you’ve registered, send two colored photos of your merchandise to [email protected].
Booth structure and contents, including inventory, are the responsibility of the Vendor. The Festival and the City of Burien do not assume any responsibility for injury to persons, or loss or damage to any property of the vendors, including theft, accidents or natural disasters.
Washington State UBI
Washington State requires a UBI (Uniform Business Identifier) number. To obtain a UBI number, call 1-800-647-7706 or go to www.dol.wa.gov/business/file.html. Applications cannot be accepted without a UBI number.
All vendors must provide their own signs. Signs must look professional. Handwritten signs are not allowed.
No alcoholic beverages, loud music, televisions are allowed within or in the vicinity of your booth. No smoking is allowed on the festival grounds by festival vendors.
