According to The Seattle Times, a man was rescued by the Coast Guard from the waters north of Maury Island Thursday afternoon.
Apparently the Coast Guard received a distress call around 1:30pm from the sailboat “Nardia Bound” reporting that a man had fallen overboard.
Despite wearing a life vest and being tethered to the boat, the man apparently couldn’t get back in.
A 25-foot rescue boat crew picked him up and took him to Des Moines, where he was taken to a hospital.
The man’s condition is not known.
