UW Husky Band To Play At “Life After High School” Rally

Just got word from our friends at the Highline School District that the University of Washington Husky band will play at a pep rally Wed. night Oct. 22nd at 7pm to encourage middle school students to go to college.

As part of Highline’s Life After High School Fair (more info here), the Husky pep band will play, and then talk with middle school students about the value of a college education.

Students will be encouraged to sign up for the state’s College Bound Scholarship, which pays for four years of tuition and books at any state college or university for low-income and foster children.

The rally will take place from 7pm to 7:45pm at Mount Rainier High School, which is located at 22450 19th Ave South in Des Moines.

No word yet on whether the band will play its signature song for the teens, which might be illegal seeing that it’s called “Tequila”:
