Ambaum Blvd. To Be Closed At SW 120th From 6/15-6/26

North-South thoroughfare Ambaum Blvd. SW will be closing at SW 120th Street beginning at 7am Monday, June 15th, through 5pm Friday, June 26th, as crews replace a drainage pipe underneath the road.

Motorists can detour via 12th Ave SW to SW 116th Street, then return back to Ambaum.

This is a joint project between the City of Burien and King County.

    The detour works for northbound, but not south bound traffic unless they are going to make that short one lane piece of 12th ave sw south of S W 120th a two way section. How about some clarification?

    So just fyi they already closed ambaum today… the sign has said the 15th but guess they wanted to get a jump on things.

    NIGHTMARE!!! Avoid 116th east/west PERIOD! Four way stops are no fun when traffic's backed up for blocks. Take the time to go the long way, it's a bit easier on your nerves.

    I agree that SW 116th westbound is problem, I was stuck in the rush hour traffic on it this evening. The detours also need more and better signage. Residents have had to make their own signs and place them on deadend crossstreets so that people don't go down those thinking they can get out of the gridlock on the east/west detours.

    The City's website says that 12th SW would be open, but it wasn't today.
