“Two Buck Chuck” Will Play Your Silliest Requests At Mick Kelly’s Thurs. July 30th
B-Town Blog Advertiser Mick Kelly’s Irish Pub will be hosting an unusual and fun two-man band called “Two Buck Chuck” from 8pm – 11pm on the last Thursday of every month beginning July 30th (and again Aug. 27th, Sept. 24th & Oct. 29th).
According to our friends at Mick’s:
“There will be no cover charge, and Happy Hour will be from 9-11pm which consists of $2.50 domestic beers and $3.50 import beers. All 13 beers on tap are on special during happy hour. There is also a happy hour food menu which is very inexpensive.”
Two Buck Chuck consists of brothers Ryan and Sean Mefferd, both on acoustic guitar and vocals, focusing on tight vocal harmonies while creating their playlist on the fly, mostly through audience requests or by drawing from their extensive knowledge of past and present radio hits, including the often-hilarious kitschy crap, which when done by these guys, becomes comedy gold (if you don’t believe us, just listen to the MP3s below).
According to their website:
“I personally love to come in when Two Buck Chuck is playing. I thoroughly enjoy the music” — Duke Moscrip, Owner, Duke’s Chowderhouse
For over a dozen years, whether they were band mates or watching one another from the wings, Ryan and Sean have always given each other mutual support and admiration. The Mefferds have each honed their crafts alongside and amongst many of the Northwest’s marquee musicians and producers, be they rock, pop, country, or R&B. In the summer of 2003 the brothers realized their common passion and Two Buck Chuck made their debut.
“Growing up together we were exposed to the same music. Whether we were listening to Boston or R.E.M on our own terms or being force-fed Neil Diamond and John Denver by our parents, we took it all in together. Music has always been in our lives and we continue to take in the Coldplays, Toby Keiths or Jack Johnsons of today with the same kind of appetite and appreciation.” — The Chucks
Two Buck Chuck offers a high-energy alternative where a full band is too much and a DJ is not enough. From Elvis to Britney, ABBA to Zeppelin, their seemingly endless repertoire of familiar songs is ever expanding. Raise a glass and sing along!
