The Wurst (aka the Brat Trot) is coming to Burien on Sunday, Oct. 4th folks…have you registered for it yet?

If not, consider this post your final warning to save some “geld” (that’s German for “money”) ‘cuz if you register before Wed., Sept. 16th you’ll save $5, which of course you can use to buy a brewski at the Tin Room’s finish line.

Here’s a message from race organizer Caroline Howe Toy:

Hello runners,

Have you already registered for the Burien Brat Trot? The race is coming up on October 4th and we hope to see you at the starting line!

Take advantage of the pre-registration discount by getting yourself signed up before September 16th! Registration for the 5K race is currently $30 but will go up to $35 in a few days.

Go to to register!

As you may already know, the Brat Trot fundraiser race is being “braut” to you by The Tin Room, with help from the good peeps who helped run the Cove to Clover Race back in March (which raised $12K), with proceeds benefiting:

Here’s a map of the race course:

Don’t forget – there will also be a pre-function Pub Crawl on Saturday, Oct. 3rd, the night before the race:

  • Starts at 6pm at The Tin Room, where you’ll pick up an official crawl bib # (just $10)
  • You’ll then “crawl” to at least five of the official local stops for “crawl drink and food specials.”
  • At each you will gather visitation stickers to qualify for a fabulous door prize drawing to be held at The Tin Room at 11pm.
  • Dress in traditional German costumes (not just a hat with feather) or come dressed as a beautiful Bratwurst (even better) and you crawl for free (well, actually you’ve paid with your self respect in the case of the brat suit).

We’ll be there, taking pics and “blogging live,” and rumor has it that some of us may even participate wearing semi-provocative lederhosen. But that’s just a rumor right now 🙂
