‘Terminal’ Man Defeats Cancer, Writes About Healthy Living
We met a lot of interesting people at Burien’s first Wellness Fair Saturday (Sept. 19). Among them is Jerrod Sessler. Ten years ago this November Jerrod was diagnosed with cancer.
“The doctors told me it was terminal. And here I am now,” he said.
Jerrod avoided the traditional cancer treatments that his doctors advocated at the time. “I switched to a completely healthy, vegan diet. Now I am healthy and alive.”
He has written of his survival, health and discovery of the benefits of a healthy diet and lifestyle. His book, “Five Percent Chance,” will be released this December, just in time for Christmas. To preorder (buy one, get one free) call 206-551-6100.
At the Wellness Fair, Jerrod and his wife Nikki prepared some of the vegan recipes they enjoy every day. Included were Almond Nut Milk (takes just a minute to make), Sunshine Salad (made with ground cashews, lemon juice, garlic and tumeric), and walnut tacos using Romaine lettuce leaves as the shell.
Jerrod and Nikki, who serve only a vegan diet to their three children, also have a thriving organic food delivery service called Freggies. For more info go to Freggies.com.
