If it’s April, it’s Earth Month at BTB Advertiser Market Place Salon and Day Spa.

Owner Daniel Keane tells BTB “our focus is to raise $1000 to donate to Puget Soundkeepers Alliance, which provides care of the waterways for our Puget Sound. We will have a variety of opportunities for people to participate.”

Earth Month, which started April 1st and continues throughout April, includes their “Dirty Martini for Clean Water” Event.

According to Daniel;

  • “On Thursdays and Saturdays each guest can have one Martini or Glass of wine while they are here for a service. We ask that they make a donation to our cause and the recommended amount is $5.00 (of course it can be more if they wish).”
  • Raffle – our raffle will be for a variety of prizes, the top one being a spa day and several others. Tickets for the raffle will be $1 each or $5 for 6 or $10 for 13.
  • Special Aveda Earth Month candles for $10.
  • Earth Day walk: “Guests can sponsor a team member who is doing the walk.”

In addition to Earth Month, Daniel wanted our readers to know that the Salon has its’ full compliment of Estheticians again. Taryn and Jamie are both back from their maternity leaves and are working part-time schedules. Taryn is here Tuesday and Saturday from 2 till 6. Jamie is here Tuesday 9-3, Thursday and Friday 10-3 and Saturday 9-2. And of course, Helen is available when they are not. Welcome back!

And finally Market Place Salon and Day Spa has started a series of Classes for its Guests.

“Our team wants to teach you how to style your hair, take care of your skin, learn about color options and more. We will be offering a series of evening classes (1 per month) over the next several months. The classes will be announced in the newsletter and posted around the salon as well. The number of spaces available will be limited so sign up as soon as there is a class you want to participate in. Also let us know if you have a particular idea for a class that we can offer.”

You can find Burien’s own Market Place Salon and Day Spa at 15858 1st Ave. South, by Trader Joe’s or call 206-244-8886 to make an appointment, donation or to register for their special beauty classes.
