Formerly the Breaktime Lounge, “C.C.’s Lounge” is getting set to open Tuesday, May 4th at 2pm. C.C.’s is the dream of professional entertainer Corinne Clark (C.C.) Engel and her husband Jacques.

Patrons of Breaktime and the Chinese restaurant that was there before them will recognize C.C. and Jacques as the entertainment duo of The French Connection. C.C. plays Keyboard and sings, and Jacques plays bass. When the location became available they decided to open their own Lounge/Restaurant that includes not only “American Comfort Food” like fried chicken, Salisbury steak, burgers, sandwiches, fries, steak, prime rib plate and lots of appetizers, but also a variety of entertainment options.

Musical items on the menu includes:

  • A Piano Bar Sunday – Wednesday from 6-8pm
  • Jam Session Thursday
  • Middle of the Road Friday and Saturday
  • Rock n’ Roll on the third weekend of every month

C.C. noted that Burien has not had a piano bar for a very long time, and she expects that this will be a big draw in the community.

Since C.C.’s is a lounge, no one under 21 will be admitted. C.C.’s will have a full bar and will be open beginning at 2pm on weekdays; it’ll also open at 9am on weekends, with breakfast on Saturday available until Noon, and Brunch on Sundays until 1pm.

C.C. is hoping to install a horseshoe bar that was designed by the same company that did F.X. McCrory’s legendary bar, this week.

In addition to the Piano Lounge in the bar, they plan a “Sports Room” with large screen TVs and a Pull Tab Room. Plus there’s a dance floor that’s at least 10 times bigger than the original floor.

C.C. wants our Readers to know that when C.C.’s opens, it will be totally renovated, right down to the new kitchen and the new windows in the front of the building!

And what about their sign that’s been teasing Burien-ites with “The Home of the 11 O’Clock Raid?” BTB got the answer to that one:

“It’s a steak dinner that will be only available in the bar on Friday and Saturday nights between 10:30 and 11:00 PM.  Not one minute before, or one minute after,” explained CC. This “Raid” will include Steak, french fries, salad and toast for only $5.99.

On a personal note, I learned that C.C.’s will be serving my favorite Midwest sandwich – a breaded pork chop sandwich, brought in direct from C.C.’s home state of Montana.
