What started out as a 9-1-1 call about a fight in progress turned into at least eight shots fired and a man grazed by a bullet on the top of his head Saturday night at The Heights At Burien apartment complex near SW 136th and Ambaum Blvd.

According to Sgt. John Urquhart of the King County Sheriff’s Department:

Turns out a couple of guys were trying to steal jewelry from a male resident of the complex. He got away once and the two suspects caught up with him. More drama, then a few of the victim’s friends came out of one of the units and ran the suspects off, who by now were outnumbered.

As the victim and his friends went back into on the buildings the suspects came up in a green Camry within 90 feet of the building and opened fire with a handgun on the group. Approximately eight shots were fired. One the men in the group was grazed on the top of the head with a bullet or shrapnel. Lots of blood but not life-threatening.

Suspects are two black males in early 20’s and a third (the driver).

And no arrests.

This apartment complex needs to be closed and demolished. Nothing but trouble goes on there and it bleeds into the surrounding neighborhoods. Burien doesn’t end at 148th, (although I think the folks at city hall would like it to). The city needs to pay more attention to north Burien, install more police presence, and get the gang activity out before it’s out of control. I want my town back 🙁

This place is a disaster! I just moved out and into seatac. It needs to be condemned and the owners of the property fined heavily for running it the way they do!
