PHOTOS: “B-Town Scoop” Sign Removed, To Be Refurbished For “Statements”

On Thursday morning (April 22), a sign company put its crane in position and gently removed the “B-Town Scoop” neon sign from above the one-time ice cream shop storefront at 917 SW 152nd Street in Olde Burien.

When asked what the future held for the iconic sign, we were pleased to hear that, rather than being put away in storage, it will be refurbished and re-used for the new business occupying the storefront, a home decor shop called “Statements.”

The B-Town Scoop sign was originally designed by local Burienite Jana Kleitsch.

“Statements” is scheduled to hold a Grand Opening on Saturday, May 1st, from 10am – 6pm, and while we’re not sure the new sign will be back in place by then, we’d like to extend a hearty B-Town Blog welcome to them!

Here are some photos taken by Scott Schaefer of Thursday’s sign removal:

I heard awhile back that B-Town Scoops was going to become something like B-Town Burgers……?????? Wonder what happened??

    • Coverofnight says:

I agree………I want a good old-fashioned burger and a MALT (not a shake) to go along with it. Am tired of that combination at Red Robin (though they ARE good); would like something a little closer to home.

B-Town Burgers should be in the final stages preparing to open soon… This is to be located across the street from the Danish Bakery where the card and magic shop used to occupy.

To my knowledge, this is not affiliated with the proprietor’s of the B-Town Scoop, but is being operated by another prior business figure in the Burien Community.

Umm, it seems you haven’t been paying too close attention to the “B-Town Burgers and Shakes” joint that has gone in kitty-corner to B-Town Scoop. Directly west of Goodie Gumdrops, is where this new burger joint is. I think they’re supposed to open sometime in May.

    Ask and you shall receive….

It is great to have all these dining possiblities in Burien. Now, if we can just transplant Bakery Noveau here, out of the West Seattle junction, I will be supremely happy.

    • Rich says:

That would be great! Anyone know when Bratz will be opening up?

    • Diane says:

No, you can’t have Bakery Nouveau! I live in West Seattle but I love coming to Burien as well to eat out, especially since you have so many nice options now. Maybe they’ll open a 2nd location in Burien? Then we can all enjoy their fine pastries!
