Thanks to BTB Reader Matt Cassarino for the tip and pics – late Friday afternoon (July 23), around 5pm, a Cadillac SUV crashed through an outside wall of Angelo’s Italian Restaurant (located at 601 SW 153rd), right into the main banquet room.

Initial reports are that there are no injuries, and it appears that the driver is elderly.

We called and spoke about the incident with a worker there, who confirmed that it had happened.

Matt says:

(A) … parked car, wheels peeled out, hopped the curb and right into the main banquet room.

Pretty crazy really.

I was sitting in my office which is right next door to Angelos and watched the whole thing happen.

At first I thought it was a hate crime or something, but then realized it was an elderly driver.

No injuries from what I could tell.

Pretty wild!

you should mention that after managing to drive over the sidewalk and bust through the building he then continued to accelerate even farther into the room. after which he was entirely unapologetic and even had the audacity to stay and eat and complain about where he was sat. pretty unbelievable.

  4. Really? says:

    Angelo’s Drive-In, now taking orders!

Is that really a customer sitting at the table by the wall with her purse on the table just watching the traffic go by? She is the definition of a “cool customer”.
