LETTER: Resident Concerned About Burglaries; Plus, Take Our Poll

Just wanted to let you know that sometime today (Friday, July 23) between 8:00 a.m. and noon there was a break-in and burglary on 6th PL SW at the very end of our cul-de-sac. We are located right around the corner from Hazel Valley Elementary. Unfortunately no one has any details on what the suspects look like, what kind of car they were driving, etc. The street is fairly private and no one can really see into that home’s yard.

I thought that I would submit this just in case more crimes like this happen and a pattern starts to emerge, and also just as an FYI for everyone to be careful and on the lookout.

    TIB. This Is Burien.
Worse is the fact that the police do not have the money to spend any time to deal with such matters. Home Owners insurance is where the protection is now, so you better document your property and review your policy becasue the police won’t be able to afford the time or the finger print powder to bother.

Apparently Normandy Park is even worse. You report details of the burglers and they don’t even bother to follow up.

I must say that in 11 years of living on this street this is only the second time that this has happened, the first being when the lady across the street got her car stolen about 6 years ago.

I’ve noticed that often times when one burglary happens more follow in the same area. They are pretty gutsy because several people on our street are always home. National Night Out is coming up soon 8/3 and it’s a good time to meet all of our neighbors and share contact info.
