You know the peak of summer is here when you hear the roar of the Blue Angels (and subsequent re-routing of airplanes from Sea-Tac), who arrived at Boeing Field this week for their big show at Seafair this weekend.

Photographer Francis Zera got into precise position and captured these great images:

Once again this year, lucky students from Aviation High School were selected as interns to assist with Air Show Operations. Their responsibilities include helping with gues check-in and crowd control for special events held all week, but by far the highlight is to observe the entire Blue Angels operation. They get an up close and personal view of the behind-the-scenes happenings, meet VIPs as well as many of the nearly 100 crew members and, when not working, chat with the Blue Angels pilots. Amazing, indeed!
