KIROTV.com is reporting that a Burien family escaped a garage fire early Monday morning because their yapping Chihuahua alerted them that something was wrong.

There were no injuries, other than perhaps the ears of the three family members (and neighbors) who got out safely thanks to their pet.

The fire apparently damaged an old car that was being restored in the garage.
