Legendary former Seattle Mariner Edgar (“Eddddgaaarrrr…”) Martinez will be in Burien Thursday night (Sept. 16), pitching his new artisan mezcal liquor at The Mark Restaurant and Bar, beginning at 9pm.
According to an email:
Martinez will appear on Thursday Night, September 16 at 9 pm, to promote El Zacatecano Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo mezcal, a beverage similar to tequila that is distilled in Mexico.
Edgar will meet and greet all dining room guest at their table, then off to the banquet room for first come first serve on autographs & photos.
So make your reservation NOW!
Come early and get your spot!
Edgar’s partner in El Zacatecano is Gene Juarez (who we don’t think will be present – perhaps he’ll be cutting hair somewhere?). They teamed up to bring the 100-year old mezcal drink stateside from Mexico. More info on the stuff is available at its website, as well as its Facebook Page.
The Mark is located at 918 SW 152nd Street, and the phone number is (206) 241-MARK.
And now, just for old times’ sake, here’s a video of Edgar’s game-winning, 11th-inning 1995 double that put the M’s over the Yankees and into the playoffs – we’d happily raise a shotglass full of his mezcal to bringing back these glory days:
