$40,000 Sits Waiting For Winners Of Locally Purchased Lottery Tickets
Don’t wash those blue jeans just yet – check the pockets first.
It appears that Sept. 7th was a lucky day, locally, for one or more bettors.
According to the “Unclaimed Top Prizes” page on the Washington Lottery website Sunday afternoon (Sept. 19th), two winning Match 4 game tickets were purchased at Andy’s Handy Mart, 150 SW 160th Street in Burien on Sept. 7th. Each of those tickets represents $10,000 to the ticket holder.
On that same day, just a few miles north, two additional winning Match 4 game tickets were bought at Magic Lanes & Casino 10612 15th Avenue S.W., in White Center.
That amounts to $40,000 which sits waiting for the lucky person (or persons) who picked the right numbers 12 days ago.
Also according the Lottery website, no other Match 4 winning tickets with all four numbers were sold anywhere else in the state that day.
In the Match 4 game, the customer (or the computer, if the customer so desires) selects four numbers between one and 24. At 8pm the folks at the Lottery pull four numbers. If those four match the four the customer picked, that customer wins ten grand.
Taxes are removed before payout, but the winnings are not split with anyone else, no matter how many winners there are.
The winning numbers for September 7 were: 4-8-13-15
Winners have until March 6, 2011 to claim their prizes.
