Local Master Designer To Represent The Northwest At Hair Show in Vegas
Yvette Garcia, “Master Designer” at advertiser Market Place Salon and Day Spa (soon to be Serenza Salon and Spa) in Burien has been honored by It&ly (Italy) Hairfashion to be one of 10 nationally chosen stylists to work behind the scenes at Italy’s annual hair show “Hollywood Loves Vegas”!
Yvette will join salon owner Daniel Keane in this show. She’ll be working behind the scenes with famous Hollywood hair designers that have worked on films such as Sex and the City and Twilight Eclipse to name a few. Daniel will be working on-stage, as he has so many times over his career.
Yvette tells The B-Town Blog that “it was nice to be invited to participate working back stage.” She feels she was invited to go because of her color expertise. “It’s a great opportunity for me. It will be fun working hands on with top Hollywood stylists,” she said. She’ll start her day with a Sunday 6am flight to Vegas and begins her backstage work at 9am sharp.
But Vegas won’t be all work and no play for Yvette and Daniel. After a day of styling with the stars of the industry, they’ll attend a V.I.P. party at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino’s Body English Nightclub. Arriving fashionably late by Burien standards – after 9pm – they’ll mingle with the Hollywood stylists, media and other V.I.P. guests.
Over 400 national and international guests will converge on Vegas for this show. After a Sunday of stylin’, attendees (including Yvette) will spend Monday and Tuesday learning new trends in the hair industry through workshops and seminars.
Yvette has been with Daniel and Market Place for 10 years. She started as Daniel’s assistant and has been his “right-hand-man” for the past six years. They work together as a team, and she makes sure the salon runs smoothly in his absence.
Market Place Salon has carried Italy Hairfashion products since 1990. According to Yvette, “they are the among the finest haircolors in the world. Created by the premier Haircolor chemist on the planet, they are 98% naturally derived and provide superior colors that last. They also have a line of styling products that are based on Desert cactus essential oils that were designed with input from the finest European stylists.”
Yvette has promised to share her Star-sighting photos with BTB, so stay tuned…
