PHOTO FRIDAY: Over 1 Million Did “The Puyallup,” Including Francis Zera

[EDITOR’S NOTE: Yes, we know this week’s “Photo Friday” feature is being posted on Saturday, and for that, we apologize. However, we figured “better late than never.”]

Over one million visitors attended this year’s Puyallup Fair, and Photographer Francis Zera was one of ’em.

While attendance at this year’s event was down by 117,827 from last year, the 17-day long fair still stands as a regional “must see” with the usual farm fare, classic carnival rides, gigantic onion burgers, and live concerts by the likes of Willie Nelson, Heart and many others.

Officials say that the 110-year-old fair is the eighth-largest in the world. Next year’s event will be held Sept. 9-25, 2011.

Francis used a “found” audiotrack from a 1947 public domain film “A Day At The Fair,” so be sure to turn up your speakers:
