Last Saturday night (Oct. 2nd), the Highline Schools Foundation for Excellence’s Oktoberfest (we were a sponsor) filled the hall at the Normandy Park Cove with festive people (some in costume), German food, yodeling from Manuela Horn, music, dancing, a silent and live auction and much more – all raising $36,000!

“This is more than a 40% increase over last year,” said foundation Executive Director Holly Moore. “Also we had about 135 more people attending this year!”

This annual fundraiser is designed to bring the community together to support the schools in a fun, party-like environment.

Chuck and Lisa Tuman served as co-chairs of the event, and showed everyone how bold they were by wearing Lederhosen. Chuck not only worked as Emcee/Auctioneer, he also provided the following photos to us (thanks Chuck!):

Thor Edman, Holly Moore and Manuela Horn.

Chuck Tuman, Lisa Tuman, Patti Gifford and Thor Edman.

Kristen Kerns, Chuck Tuman and Slavka Bishoff.

Hannah Baisch, Kelly Williamson and Chelsea Tuman.
