Everyone is again invited to attend – and participate in – the next B-Town Blog Candidates Debate, set for Tuesday, Oct. 12th at 7pm, when Joe Fitzgibbon and Mike Heavey will face off at the ERAC Building in Burien.

They’re shooting for the job of State Representative, 34th District, Position 2, for the seat being vacated by Sharon Nelson, who is running unopposed for the State Senate.

This one is quite the race. It has not been common in the recent many years for two non-incumbents to appear on the general election ballot for a State House race in the 34th District.

Fitzgibbon garnered about 500 more votes than did Heavey in the August primary, in which about 27,000 total votes were cast for all four candidates in the race at the time.

The debate format will allow audience members – you and your neighbors – to boldly ask these two candidates questions.

There is no admission charge and everyone and anyone is welcome to attend.

The ERAC is a Highline School District building located at 15675 Ambaum Blvd SW, just north of Hi-Line Lanes, across from the Azteca Restaurant in Burien.

The general election is Nov. 2nd, and it’s an all mail-in election. Ballots begin arriving around October 14.
