A monthly Reiki Clinic is being offered at the Burien Community Center every 2nd Tuesday from 10:00 AM to noon. All the Reiki practitioners are volunteers and the donation fee of $2-$10 goes directly to support the Burien Senior and Adult Programs at the center.

The half-hour treatments are offered by appointment. Call 206-988-3700 to schedule.

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive hands-on healing practice that is deeply relaxing. Current Reiki practice has its origins in early 1900’s Japan.

The treatment consists of light touch hand placement to specific points on the body. The recipient is fully clothed and is lying or sitting comfortably. All practitioners have experience with a public practice and the treatments are under the supervision of a professional Reiki master.

The purpose of the clinic is to introduce Reiki to the general public in a relaxed, quiet and accessible environment and to make treatments available to those who would not otherwise access alternative therapies.

One of the clients described her experience:

“I enjoyed my Reiki session with the practitioners who treated me with laying their hands on my head, my sides, and my feet. I could feel the energy and even felt slightly light-headed when I got off the table. I experienced a kind of euphoria afterwards, which turned into a very relaxed state for several hours. Looking forward to my next session!”

The Burien Community Center is located at 14700 6th Ave SW.
