At advertiser Daystar Retirement Village in West Seattle residents say “It’s so good to be home!” and they really mean it.

Set amidst two and a half acres, large trees and landscaped gardens, Daystar is just across the street from Westwood Village Shopping Center, and backs up to recently renovated Roxhill Park.

Michele Mintzer, Community Consultant at Daystar told us, “Unlike many other area retirement communities, Daystar is not part of a large chain of senior living communities. Daystar is the personal vision of owners Monte and Diane Powell who are very “hands-on” when it comes to the care and individual needs of our residents. They have imparted this philosophy to their caring, inspiring staff.”

At Daystar Retirement Village there are four residence options to choose from depending on what size apartment you desire and your personal care needs. Whether you choose to live in an independent apartment with a full kitchen and your own washer and dryer, or wish to receive some assistance with your daily tasks, all of their plans emphasize flexibility, comfort, privacy and independence.

Apartment homes at Daystar include studios, deluxe studios, as well as one and two bedrooms. All independent apartment homes have washer and dryers with full kitchens. Click here to check out the apartments and floor plans.

Cats and small dogs are always welcome at Daystar.

The many amenities at Daystar are designed to create a sense of security, home and comfort. Just a few are:

  • Emergency call system in each apartment
  • Ample, lighted parking for residents and guests
  • Daily activity and social programs
  • Restaurant-style dining in one of five intimate dining rooms. For sample menus click here
  • Scheduled transportation to appointments, shopping or to local churches on Sunday.

And in the event you aren’t ready to sell your house or your house hasn’t yet sold, but you want to enjoy the worry-free lifestyle that Daystar offers now, you can take advantage of one of two programs found only at Daystar:

  • “No-Fee” Powell Property Management, if you’d rather rent your house and earn the rental income, or,
  • Home Selling Program that reduces your monthly fees at Daystar while your house is on the market. This gives you the opportunity to move in when you want to rather than waiting the market to improve and your house to sell.

If the time has come to consider retirement living for you or a loved one, do put Daystar Retirement Village on your ‘must-see’ list. You can make an appointment by either calling 206-937-6122; emailing [email protected] or dropping by the Hearthside building for a tour at 2615 SW Barton Street in West Seattle’s Westwood neighborhood. It’s literally across from Target in Westwood Village, plus about 75 other stores and restaurants!

Daystar is truly a place you’ll be proud to make your home.

I worked for Daystar many years ago. I remember how beutiful the grounds were, as they were mostly kept up by Monte Powel himself. And the interior was very cozy and well maintained.
I worked in the kitchen and the quality of food that we served was really like home cooked “mama” food.
The staff at Daystar went out of thir way to make each resident feel loved and cared for. I will never forget it.
