WAY TO GO ELDERS!
We’d like to give a huge shout-out to the oldest runner to finish:

  • Warren Norman, 79 – who came in 669th!

The second oldest, coming in 445th, was John W. Gaither, aged 71.

Robert Shirley, 70, at the top of Snake Hill.

Three 70-year old runners finished as well:

  • Robert Shirley, 53rd
  • Sandra Sylvester, 637th
  • Penney Hall, 734rd
  • Julie Stiles, 68, came in 259th.
  • King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg, of Normandy Park, came in 643rd

WAY TO GO YOUNGSTERS!

  • Bryce Kerns, 5, came in 544th
  • Elena Briscoe, also 5, came in 742nd

OUR EYEWITNESS ACCOUNT OF THE START & SNAKE HILL:
We were lucky enough to have witnessed the race while seated in the back of the Pace Truck, and we watched with great interest as several young men sprinted right out of the gate at the start, but quickly faded once they hit the hill just up from The Cove starting line.

Paraplegic Keegan Reilly takes off from the starting line. Zach Reilly (#891) accompanies him.

Unicyclist Kevin Williams peddles his way up Snake Hill while Keegan and Zach Reilly follow.

'The Snake' dared and mocked runners using a P.A. system.

Perhaps he likes 'The Hulk,' or maybe St. Patrick's Day – Zachary Shimp, 13, climbs Snake Hill on his way to coming in 60th.

Brat Trot winner Matt Parker, known for racing without a shirt, came in 6th.

Race Organizer John Nelson was possibly too busy to worry about winning. He came in 52nd.

Several parents were seen sporting their kids on their backs...

...or pushing them in strollers, even while the kids slept.

Tony Le (#393) led the race right out of the gate, then faded once he hit the hill. He came in 469th.

Aiden Basco, 12, led the race up most of Snake Hill...

...until eventual race winner Raul Silva, 19, took the lead.

We’ll be posting more pics soon, especially of ‘The Uprising’ obstacle course and others, so be sure to check back often.
