Have You Taken The ‘Vision For Burien’ Survey Yet? This Map Knows…

The City of Burien’s “Vision for Burien” project staff posted a colorful map to its Facebook Page Friday (March 25th), showing the locations of people who have taken their online survey.

“This map represents the areas of town we’ve heard from for our first Vision for Burien survey,” said Jenn Ramirez Robson, Management Analyst for the city. “The color intensity goes from dark green to bright red, so the more people we have heard from in a certain area, the brighter the color. In the white area no one has completed the survey. Encourage others to fill out the survey and fill in the gaps!”

As you can see by the nearly-psychedelic map, many locations (shown in white) have not yet taken the survey, including a surprisingly large swath of Seahurst Park (!), an “island” of sorts in northwest Burien, another section on southeast Burien, and a buncha North Highline areas.

The deadline is March 31st, so if you haven’t taken the survey yet, click here: www.burienwa.gov/visionsurvey

If I had known about the survey, I would have taken it!

Lots of our residents speak Spanish. The survey is only in English. The people of my neighborhood mostly speak Espanol and appears green on the map. Gee…

You can still do it. It’s pretty short, three questions I think

You all seem to want diversity, which we have in abundance, but your laws are
incredibly lenient. How about sound limitations in
cars? Lynnwood and other communities do not have boom box cars driving all over the neighborhoods forcing their unpleasant “music” on everyone nearby. How about a larger police force. Per capita I believe Burien is the lowest in the area .I have never seen anyone stopped for a driving infraction in Burien. It is also disconcerting to see loiterers at every entrance to the library.
Also, car prowling and theft is rampant in my neighborhood. People put signs anywhere and everywhere further adding to the unpleasant appearance of Burien.

Let’s clean up the town; keep it safe; and quiet!

I personally think they were stupid questions, do I really think these open-ended questions will be compiled & considered? Not much ‘planning’ u can do from getting peoples emotional responses. My biggest Fear? sounds like q’s that politicians ask so they can formulate an ad campaign… so they can sell you onto their plans….
