Miss The Royal Wedding? Put Your ‘Hats On For Highline’ Saturday, May 7th
So your invitation to the Royal Wedding got lost in the mail, and you’ve been thinking to yourself, “Whatever shall I do with this gorgeous, fancy hat I just bought?” like Princess Beatrice of York’s um, interesting one:
Well, we’ve got the answer folks – you can still wear that fancy (or silly) hat and enjoy some serious Pomp and Circumstance by attending this year’s ‘Hats On For Highline’ event, which takes place Saturday, May 7th at Emerald Downs racetrack in Auburn.
Oh, and speaking of silly, The B-Town Blog’s own Scott Schaefer will be serving as MC, and he’s promised to try to wear as many silly hats as he can find (or that Readers donate or loan to him – email him if you’ve got one!) during the event, which is a fundraiser for the Highline Medical Center Foundation.
Just be aware that there are a limited number of tickets left, so be sure to order yours now by calling 206-901-8500 or emailing [email protected]!
Gates open at 11:30am, and the fun starts at Noon with a buffet lunch. Live horse racing starts at 1pm, a Silent Auction ends at 1:30pm, and the Hat Contest winners will be announced at 2:30pm. Hat Contest Categories are:
- Most Creative
- Most Vintage
- Best Ensemble (hat and outfit)
- Best Use of Roses
Tickets are $60 per person, and includes admission to Emerald Downs, seating in a a private VIP trackside tent, lunch, parking, program racing form and tip sheet. A table for eight is $600, which includes all of the above for eight guests as well as name/signage recognition.
