The City of Burien says on its website that the contractor doing the paving work on Ambaum Blvd. SW “hopes to resume paving on Monday, June 13, continuing throughout the week.”

“Intermittent wet weather has caused postponement of scheduled paving,” adds the website, which continues:

Paving will begin at S.W. 124th St. progressing southbound.

Traffic from the affected lanes will be rerouted to 4th Ave. SW.

Completion of paint striping and raising of street utilities lids, grates and valves will require an additional 2 to 3 weeks.

All work on Ambaum Blvd S.W. should be completed by the end of June.

What a bunch of idiots! Unbelievable incompetence!
How in the world do these people get hired? Tear up the main street and then bail out?

With sunny skies and temperatures in the 70’s, can someone explain why these guys weren’t out there working?

Has anyone noticed that their is something wrong with the company doing the project? I”ve never seen a project like this take so long. Ambaum should have never been torn up with out knowing, exactly when it would be paved. Burien is being taken advantage of. Who is looking out for us??? Are we being compensated in any way? Is it going to cost us less?

Isolated showers are in the forcast for Monday. How long will it be put off now? I am avoiding driving on Ambaum like the plague. I wonder how this delay is affecting businesses along Ambaum? Also any word on phase 1 on 1st ave? They are already talking about phase 2 at the Council meetings. Correct me if I am wrong but don’t you think phase 1 should be completed first?

Somebody needs to take pictures of ALL the unfinished work on Phase 1…Take it to the council meeting and present it in a slide show…..but….. it better be quick you only get 3 minutes to show the whole presentation.
