Local Boy Scouts were robbed of around $1,700 worth of equipment from their trailer parked overnight at Sylvester Middle School in Burien Monday night, according to police.

According to Sgt. John Urquhart of the King County Sheriff’s Office, the scouts parked their trailer on school grounds around 8:30 p.m. Monday night (July 18), then left.

“When they came back the next morning, someone had busted off the lock on the door of the trailer and several items were missing, including a boys’ compound bow, arrows, a drill, a generator, and a sledge hammer,” Urquhart said.

The total loss is estimated to be “about $1,700.”

What a crummy thing to do to the Boy Scouts. I hope they are caught soon.

This week our local Cub Scouts are attending day camp at Camp Shoenwald, which is located behind Syvester. I hope that these incidents are not related, and that our Scouts can enjoy the rest of the week at camp.

I`m sure they can Corri Q. If nothing else, think of the flip side, they can practice their knot tying and tie the thieves to a tree near an ant hill, put a little honey on em, muffle their screams and watch the show. *woof*

Which is why I don`t go anywhere in Burien unarmed.

I too, Feral Dog, don’t go unarmed anywhere anymore. There’s been daytime burglaries in the Seahurst area. All happened around 2:30 – 3:00 pm. Three homes broken into in a one block radius. From middle of June through middle of July. I’ll shoot first, then ask questions.
