Normandy Park/Burien Recycling Collection & Compost Bin Sale Is Sept. 17

The Normandy Park/Burien Fall Recycling Collection Event and Compost Bin Sale is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 17th, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Washington State Criminal Justice Center, located at 19010 First Ave South.

This event will be open to recycling tires, batteries, oil, household goods, appliances and much more (excluding computers, monitors and TVs), and will also include the sale of Compost Bins for $20 each, cash only.

WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011 9:00 am—3:00 pm

WHERE: Washington State Criminal Justice Training Center, located at 19010 1st Ave South (event will be held behind the Center).

INFO: From the flier:

Start backyard composting to save resources and money. Composting is a natural process that turns yard waste into rich soil. Yard waste—grass, leaves, old flowers–-contain mostly water. Once the water dries, rich soil is all that’s left. Compost bins normally retail for about $100, but residents will pay only $20 (cash only).
