The annual ‘Empty Bowls’ fundraiser for the Highline Area and White Center Food Banks is going on today (Friday, Jan. 27) at the Burien Community Center – and there’s still time to enjoy the dinner, which will be served from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.

The Community Center is located at 14700 6th Ave SW, in the building that formerly housed the library.

Publisher/Editor Scott Schaefer was on hand to take the following pics during the lunch session; be sure to check back later for scenes from the dinner from Michael Brunk (click images below to see larger versions or to start slideshow):

    The Habanero Chili from Elliot Bay Brewery was most excellent!!!

    So what were the final totals? I had a terrific tomato basil soup from the Mark for lunch and then a yummy mushroom brie soup from the 909 for dinner. Delicious kalamata bread from Grand Central. Wish I could have tried them ALL!

    (The kids loved Panera’s chicken noodle soup too!)
