BTown Burgers & Shakes, located at 822 SW 152nd Street in Olde Burien, has apparently been ‘closed for repairs’ for several weeks now, according to our observations, as well as their Facebook Page and Twitter feed.

“Sorry Folks we are doing some major canges will keep yo posted (sic),” reads a note posted on their Facebook Page on Thursday (Feb. 16).

One Facebook follower added “Would like to use the gift cards we received for Christmas some time soon. Don’t want them to go to waste,” which did not receive a response from the owners.

We tried calling the business for more information, but the phone number (206-436-8404) was busy on several repeated attempts.

According to a Commenter calling himself ‘Jo Shmo‘:

BTBurgers filed for Chapter 11 in December. It was posted in the Puget Sound Business Journal in the notices section.

The last Tweet for BTown Burgers was sent out Jan. 12:

Buy any burger today and get the second for a dollar

BTB Intern Bryan Charles went over Thursday afternoon to investigate, but only found the lights out, doors locked and this sign on the front door:

There is no mention of the closure on their website.

As we learn more about what’s going on at this business, we’ll update this post.

Per the Better Business Bureau, there is an alert on this business because

“On December 06, 2011, the company filed for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the federal Bankruptcy Act, case number 11-24038.

This permits the company to continue to operate with court supervision while developing a plan of reorganization.

Those with monetary claims against the company are advised to obtain a Proof of Claim form by writing to Washington Western Bankruptcy Court CM/ECF, 700 Stewart St Room 6301, Seattle, WA, 98101 for resubmission to that court.

The case number should be entered on the form.”

We were planning on opening last week however the issues related to the repairs still persist. Will update on blog and social media when we reopen thanks

  8. BurgerMeister says:

Noticed a little while ago that their Facebook page has been removed/closed. It’s been so long now, I’m sure they’d have to completely restock all consumables to reopen the restaurant.

Heard that the employees there weren’t the happiest folks, either. Ah well…
