On Thursday (Feb. 23), King County Sheriff Sue Rahr was selected as Executive Director of the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission , located at 19010 1st Ave South in Burien.
Pending passing a background check (kind of ironic we think), Rahr will take over after last year’s resignation of Joe Hawe, a former US Marshal.
Rahr was one of four candidates considered for the gig by the commission members, along with Attorney General and gubernatorial candidate Rob McKenna as well as Washington State Patrol Chief John Batiste.
She’s in her second term as sheriff, which expires in 2013. It’s expected that chief deputy Steve Strachan, former police chief for the city of Kent, will be selected as Rahr’s interim successor.Facebook Twitter Subscribe
