Landmark Event Center in Des Moines was the new setting for the Highline Classic Jazz Festival this past Saturday (March 10).

This annual event is organized by Burien Arts as part of their mission to “enrich, entertain and engage all generations, visitors and communities in the greater Burien and Highline region through createive and innovative arts programming.”

Now in its fourth year, the one-day festival brought together a wide variety of performers celebrating the first century of Jazz in all of its forms.

Throughout the day attendees were treated to Ragtime, Dixieland, Western Swing, Blues, Big Band Jazz and much more.

From all accounts, this year’s event in the new venue was a toe-tapping success.

Photographer Michael Brunk spent a few hours exploring the festival and put together the following photo gallery featuring just a few of the talented performers taking part this year. You can click on individual thumbnails to view high resolution images.

Thanks so much Michael Brunk for the pictures. I had to miss this years’ event due to a vacation to the very warm and sunny midwest. Glad you could share some of it with your readers. Looks like a fun way to spend a day and evening.

This event was a lot of fun. I enjoyed all the musicians and the dancing.
