We here at The B-Town Blog take great pride in showcasing local arts and artists, from sponsoring events like the Wild Strawberry Festival to Arts-A-Glow to Music & Movies in the Park to Empty Bowls and SoKing Internet Radio and more – and now we’d like to announce a new arts-related partnership – with the Burien Culture Hub !
Check out the “Culture ” choice up in our main navigation bar, sandwiched between “Crime” and “Jobs” to see what they have to offer.
The Burien Culture Hub is a multi-armed project that was created to address the needs of our local arts, heritage and cultural organizations for centralized information and to provide broader exposure of events, opportunities, and information to the public. The Hub is supported through funding by the City of Burien, by local member arts organizations, and through advertising.
“We are very excited to announce this new collaboration with The B-Town Blog, our favorite source for local news,” said Virginia Wright, Culture Hub Director. “We will be seeking increased levels of participation from among the local business community – especially those businesses that have arts and cultural elements within their premises. We will also be seeking further partnerships and collaboration that will foster growth, bringing more valuable content to the community.”
In essence, the Hub is a centralized idea with several spokes, most of which are online. The primary “spokes” are the Burien Culture Hub website , social media (Facebook , Google+, Twitter , Flickr , YouTube), and a monthly newsletter. We encourage you to engage with us in multiple ways in multiple locations. The website is currently primarily a news source, but we’re building an ever-expanding platform for new content, new functionality, and rich media.
But you don’t have to go very hard to find what they’re publishing. As a result of the agreement with The B-Town Blog, you can reach their content very easily, from the “Culture ” link at the top of this site.
The folks at the Hub welcome all feedback, ideas, requests, collaboration suggestions, etc. – if you have something to say, or a piece of information related to arts, heritage or culture, shoot them an email: [email protected] .Facebook Twitter Subscribe
