On Wednesday of this week (March 21), thieves broke into the Burien home of the Amador family, and among items stolen was a box containing the remains of their older son Efrain, who passed away 13 years ago in a car accident.

The missing container with Efrain’s remains is a cherry-colored wooden box with copper flowers on the lid. The box was enclosed in a dark red velvet bag that was stolen along with other items.

The Amador family has been residents of the area for almost 20 years; daughter Geno Amador is the former Associate Director of local non-profit Para Los Niños.

Family members are asking that if anyone knows anything about this incident, to please find a way to return the urn to the family, no questions asked, as they would like to give their son a proper burial in Mexico.

“Out of everything they took that would be the most important thing they want returned,” family friend Maurcio Ayon told The B-Town Blog.

That is terrible. I am hoping with this family that the theives return the box and ashes.

  2. This is a dreadful thing to happen to this family. FYI – Geno is their daughter, not their son as you stated. She was the recipient of the Highline Schools Foundation for Excellence’s scholarship when she graduated from Highline a number of years ago and graduated from Highline Community College. She worked last year as Para Los Nino’s interim director. We are seeing way too many home invasions, robberies and burglaries around here!

Why can’t we catch these thieves.?? Not enough police? Something needs to be done the number of burglaries in our town have gone thru the roof recently…

Crime in general is up, John. Had a car prowl this morning. Was told I shouldn’t have chased the guy but that I should go online to report it. Thank for the help ……………..
