On September 5, 1946, Elmer R. “Dick” Yarington opened the doors of his White Center Funeral Home with the hope, determination and the desire to support people in need. He and his wife, Mary Frances Yarington, offered both their business and their home to the community for comfort and support during life’s most difficult times. Now more than six decades later, families are still met with the same compassion and personalized service for which we have become known.
Yarington’s White Center Funeral Home began with humble beginnings and the determination of becoming “the community’s funeral home.” Today, its reach encompasses the many diverse cultural, religious and ethnic traditions that make up the vibrant neighborhoods of Seattle and the South Puget Sound. For more than six decades, our commitment has remained unchanged and yet, our funeral home and cremation services have always responded to the changing needs of the community and our neighbors who live here.??We are proud to be a member of the Dignity Memorial® network of more than 1,600 funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers. When you choose a Dignity Memorial provider, you not only receive the compassionate care you expect from a locally-operated establishment, but also the value you deserve from the largest and most trusted network of funeral, cremation and memorialization services. We believe creating meaningful ways to pay tribute to a loved one begins with compassion and is shaped by the understanding that each life is truly unique. For us, there is no greater responsibility than honoring and preserving the story of one’s life.
Every year, we support numerous non-profits, and participate in many professional organizations and chambers of commerce. We offer our “Help through the Holidays” program to assist those who might feel lonely during the holiday season. Our funeral professionals serve on numerous local boards, are active service club members and support our schools. We are honored to be a part of the South Seattle Community.
