Last March, we posted a story entitled “Burien-Based Painter Darryl Whalen Producing Podcasts On ‘Healthy Painting,” which profiled Whalen, a local painter who was dabbling in creating original Podcasts.

Well, Whalen is now a podcast veteran, having produced 32 episodes as of May.

At the time of our story, Whalen’s show was called “Healthy Homecast,” and he had just three episodes posted.

“This past January, with 21 episodes under our belt, we changed the name of our program to ‘GreenerViews,'” Whalen told The B-Town Blog. “We acquired a new Audio Engineer, as well as our first Video Engineer, and then began videotaping all of our episodes.”

His team now has 32 episodes, and the average running time of each show is approximately one hour. Some of the shows are a bit shorter, and Whalen says they have worked hard to keep them that way. “It’s a work in progress,” he added.

Recently Whalen’s show has had a bit more of a Burien presence with interviews featuring Gina Bourdage of Discover Burien:

As well as John Nelson of Cove to Clover:

Whalen says that despite not earning any money (yet), he and his crew put all of their spare time into the project as a labor of love, and continue to seek interns to help with producing, marketing, social networking and administration work.

“We also continue to line up interviews and would love to find more interested (and interesting) guests that live in, work in or contribute support to the fine city of Burien,” Whalen added.
