Under clear, sunny skies, the second week of the Burien Farmers Market is well underway (and is open until 6 p.m. – come see us!), and there’s lots of fresh asparagus, nuts, pastries, handmade crafts and more, as well as smiling faces.

Two scenes so far struck us as photo-worthy (click images to see larger versions):

Scene from Thursday's Burien Farmers Market sketched by Intern Bryan Charles.

Lori Alden of Prudential Northwest Realty hold her new puppy 'Rocky,' which she adopted from Burien CARES Animal Control. The dog next to her is Joseph Breidenbach, aka 'DUI Joe.'

Closeup of Lori's new puppy shows a sweet young soul, soon to be a new best friend and mascot for Prudential Northwest Realty.

Rikki Marohl, manager of the Des Moines Farmers Market (which opens June 2) and her son Oliver, 3, show their support at Thursday's Burien Farmers Market. Click image to see larger version.

Eric Straus started Straus Bavarian Nuts two years ago, and now has about a dozen flavors, including Chai Spice, Chocolate Orange Almonds and many others. "We roast 'em in a German Copper Kettle," he said. Click image to see larger version.

We’re at our booth until 6 p.m., so come over and say hi!
