On Saturday night, May 5, an anniversary fundraiser was held for Ryan Burns’ Burien School of Music at Bison Creek Pizza.

One of the highlights of the night was when local resident Andy Kleitsch took the stage and belted out a brand new original song about B-Town, called “Burien Anthem (Rockin’ B-Town Baby).”

Kleitsch was backed by Ryan Burns on keyboards, Jeff Fielder and Darren Loucas on guitars, Andy Stoller on bass and Todd Anderson on drums.

Here are the lyrics as written by Kleitsch in case you want to sing along:

There’s my grade school, high school teacher, and the first girl I kissed
There’s the telephone pole on the corner, that my camaro hit
There’s the minimart when we were 16, sold us Bartles and James
When you’re born in Burien, the cops all know your name

(CHORUS)
Hey, hey,
You want south kind county to make you proud,
Keep lookin cause we make it loud

B-Town baby,
Oh baby please,
We’re rockin’ B-Town baby,
Don’t call the police!
We’re rockin B-Town baby,
Oh baby please,
We’re rockin B-Town baby,
Don’t call the police!

After high school the kids with the big dreams, all moved away,
And they’re never moving back, never moving back, never no way,
But what happened, they all now live here, it’s hard to explain,
I’m surrounded by my friends, playing in the band, the third runway

(CHORUS)

Here’s a video of the live performance as shot on Scott Schaefer’s iPhone:
