BURIEN AMBER ALERT CANCELED: Suspect in Custody, Children Safe + Pics
UPDATE 5/22/12 4:45 p.m.: According to Sgt. Cindi West of the King County Sheriff’s Office, Michael Riley, the suspect in Tuesday afternoon’s Amber Alert, has been taken into custody, and the two children he abducted from the Burien Library are safe.
Police say that Riley, 23, had a loaded gun in the car, along with drug paraphernalia.
West says that the stolen vehicle, a 1994 Lexus, was located using LoJack technology as well as via KCSO’s Guardian One chopper. Reports say that the car was tracked in Burien’s Three Tree Point neighborhood before being found in the Gregory Heights neighborhood near SW 160th and 21st Ave SW.
According to some Tweets West sent out:
“Suspect had loaded gun at feet in car and drug paraphernalia. Children fine! Thanks to Lojak and airsupport for tracking vehicle.”
“Car found SW160/ near 20th!”

And during the subsequent media frenzy (interesting how everything wrapped up just before the 5’o’clock news), BTB Contributor Gregory Rehmke managed to capture these images of some of the choppers hovering over Burien:
