Today is Thursday, and that can mean only one thing – the Discover Burien Farmers Market is open until 6 p.m. – and as usual, your original, dedicated, recently-awarded (“Best Hyperlocal Website” for the 2nd year) B-Town Bloggers will be are blogging live!

Come on by Town Square Park (SW 152nd and 5th Place SW) and get some fresh produce, food, crafts and more, and be sure to stop by our tent and grab a FREE Starburst candy (just say “please” first…) and listen to some all-local music via SoKing Internet Radio at our tent!

That’s right – we’re playing all local music and we’ve got FREE candy at our table (just remember the magic word)…AND get this – renowned local Artist Laurie Haslund is painting kids faces for FREE at our booth until around 3:30 p.m.!

Here’s some of the action so far today:

Several kids from Burien’s Bridge School paraded through the market just after it opened, in costume, giving out candy and playing Kazoos to Queen’s “We Will Rock You.” It was a very charming moment and BTB Publisher/Editor Scott Schaefer got some of it on camera (click images to see larger versions and/or slideshow):

BTB Intern Byran Charles was sent out on assignment to find an interesting Vendor and this is what he discovered:

Boc-boc-boc-come on down to the Farmers market! Roost with a hotdog and check out this invention. This week we noticed this amazingly portable chicken coop, it's on wheels, so you can have your chicken to go, along with enough space to stick your little pecker's head out to drink without your entering. This coop is 400 dollars, and it could be your poultry in motion!
