Expect flaggers, one lane restrictions and travel delays up to 10 minutes crossing the Sylvester Bridge.
Patience required.
The final phase of the construction is being completed under the bridge stabilizing the extremely steep slopes and installing storm water drains. Two more weeks of intermittent delays can be expected.
Scarsella Brothers delivered an estimated 350 tons more “4-8 spaul” in four giant side dumper trucks. A huge front loader then moves the rock to various positions on the bridge and dumps it over the side one big bucket at a time.
Long lines of traffic up to 20 cars were seen Tuesday morning (May 29) as the work crowd tried to get across the bridge.

Thanks Brett for the update! We were wondering when the finish work was going to be done.
So when are the stop signs coming down at the 12th Ave corner at Sylvester where the detour on the West end was routed up the hill?
Please don’t tell us they are going to stay…!
Cheers!
