UPDATE: Not Wanting to be a Brat, B-Town Brewfest Trots to Oct. 13
There’s nothing worse than scheduling two fundraisers in the same weekend, and that’s why Organizers for the first-ever B-Town Brewfest announced Wednesday (June 20) that they’re moving their event to Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Burien Community Center.
“We got a call last week from the folks at the Burien Brat Trot regarding their charity beer garden on Saturday, Oct. 6 – the original date of the Brewfest,” said Eric G., one of the B•Town Brewfest Organizers. “They were concerned about the Brewfest taking away attendance from their Saturday evening charitable event. We’ve always loved the Brat Trot and the Burien Community, so we didn’t want to do anything to harm their incredible fundraising efforts. That’s why we’ve moved the date of the Brewfest back one week to October 13th,” he continued.
The B•Town Brewfest will serve as a fundraiser for the SeaTac Guild of Seattle Children’s Hospital.
As a “Thank You” to the B•Town Brewfest, you will find Brewfest event information available for anyone attending the Brat Trot’s Friday night Pub Crawl on Oct. 5th and Saturday beer garden event on Oct. 6th.
“We greatly appreciate the B•Town Brewfest’s understanding and flexibility regarding rescheduling their event. They’ve been wonderful to work with,” said Ashley Fosberg, Executive Director of the Highline Schools Foundation, and one of the organizers of the Brat Trot. “We’re all looking forward to attending the B•Town Brewfest ourselves on October 13th.”
The B•Town Brewfest will have two sessions:
- 11:30 AM – 3:30 p.m.
- 4:30 PM – 8:30 p.m.
Guests must be 21 years or older to attend.
This new beer-lovers festival will feature local breweries from around the South Puget Sound area pouring their best drafts.
Advance tickets are $25, and are available online by visiting the Festival’s website at http://www.btownbrewfest.com (NOTE: as of 4:30 p.m. 6/20/12, the event website still had the previous date posted) or at http://www.brownpapertickets.com. Your ticket admission includes a 2012 commemorative taster cup and ten taster tokens. You may also purchase tickets the day of the event for $30. Additional taster tokens will be on sale during the day of the Festival.
Festival organizers will also be giving away a limited number of free VIP tickets to the festival in a series of online raffles through the Festival’s facebook page. Visit http://www.facebook.com/btownbrewfest and simply “like” the festival page and you’re entered to win.
Local businesses can take advantage of sponsorship opportunities provided by the festival.
“We have two-levels of participation for local businesses to choose from,” added Eric G. “They both provide a huge amount of exposure before, during, and even after the festival in the form of website exposure, facebook shout-outs, event poster, banner and brochure space, and a lot more.”
