WATERLAND BLOG: Three Tree Point Yacht Club Sets Sail To Support Hospitality House

On this past weekend’s surprisingly sunny Sunday afternoon, the sailboats of the Three Tree Point Yacht Club took to the waters off Des Moines. The event was not a normal sailing race though, but rather the culmination of the “Boats For Beds” fundraiser.

The fundraiser — in its third year — is a cooperative venture between the yacht club and Burien’s Hospitality House women’s shelter.

Earlier this year at Hospitality House’s annual “Spring Fling” fundraiser, seats aboard eleven boats were auctioned off to help raise operating funds for the shelter. Around $7,500 was raised through this year’s auction.
