Workshops for Burien’s ‘Arts-A-Glow’ will be held at Moshier Arts Center

Workshop for Burien’s annual Arts-A-Glow will be held at Moshier Community Arts Center starting July 21.

Burien’s fabulous lantern festival and parade is set for Saturday, Sept. 8, from 5 – 10 p.m. at Dottie Harper Park (we’ll be there for sure…).

Workshops will be held at the Moshier Community Art Center, located at 430 South 156th.

Here are the various offerings:

If you lead a group and would like to teach lantern-making to your community, this is for you!  Participants in this free workshop will gain the skills they need to teach lantern-making to their students and community members.
Free, Ages 16-Adult, 1 class

  • Saturday, July 21, 9:00-11:00 AM

Come to this family-friendly Open Studio and learn how to make a variety of lantern styles and make a lantern to take home.  Registration is not required.  Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
Free, Ages 6-Adult, 1 class

  • Saturday, July 21, 11:00 AM–3:00 PM

It’s happening again, the fabulous Arts-A-Glow Volunteer class!  During this class, you’ll try your hand at making each of the different lantern styles that will be made at the festival.  If you stay to help prep materials, we will teach you how to make your amazing lantern for free!
