The cover for Charles Bukowski’s ‘Ham on Rye’ is located next to The Tin Room/Theater at 923 SW 152nd Street. Photo by Scott Schaefer.
Twenty-nine giant book covers are gracing numerous walls around downtown Burien, courtesy the King County Library System’s 2012 “Take Time to Read” Book Cover Tour.
Some are appropriately-placed (Knit Your Own Dog at The Yarn Stash or Pretty Delicious at 909 Coffee & Wine) while others are more mysterious (can anyone explain why A Clockwork Orange is at A Place for Pets?).
The covers are also located in Bellevue, Black Diamond, Crossroads, Duvall, Issaquah, Kirkland, Kent, Maple Valley, Mercer Island, North Bend, Renton, Vashon and Woodinville, and QR codes on the posters will take you directly to the catalog where you will find the books.
You may have seen them as you wandered around town, but in case you haven’t, here’s a guide – now go read every book and take your pic next to it, then email it to us!:
