Details are still sketchy at this point, but Sgt. Cindi West of the King County Sheriff’s Department told The B-Town Blog at 3 p.m. Wednesday (July 11) about a police pursuit near Burien’s Five Corners area (Trader Joe’s/Albertson’s) involving at least two squad cars and a chopper.

“This is from a possible burglary, and one may in custody,” West told us.

BTB Reporter Greg Wright witnessed the activity as he was driving northbound on SR-509 into Burien, and he said “It’s always kind of disturbing when you drive down the freeway and you see a manhunt in progress.”

Wright adds that it appeared that the suspect may have jumped down off the S. 160th overpass.

We recommend avoiding the area.

As we get more details we’ll update this post, so stay tuned…

New police activity in Top Hat/North Burien. Police helicopters and police units abound in and around 1st Avenue S. It looks serious judging from the police activity.
