Roy D. Brown, Woodworker
Story & Photos by Mark Neuman
Roy D. Brown retired a few years back, then decided to try his hand at woodworking.
He found he has the “mojo” as witnessed by his many creations available today at Discover Burien’s Farmers Market, which goes until 6 p.m.
This turtle works as both a hanging basket and a trivet, also known as a hot plate.

“It used to take me 30 minutes to cut the twirls in this turtle,” Roy told us. “Now it takes me just eight minutes.”

Roy also adds: “I can personalize clocks. My wife’s name is Barbara.”

Very cool. Fun gift idea!
Very nice stuff Roy has. I like hearing about folks who retire and become Artisans.
