A 24-hour fundraiser to benefit children’s cancer victims called “Dive Around the Clock” will be held starting at 4 p.m. this Friday, July 20 at Redondo Beach in Des Moines (NOTE: parent company South King Media is a Sponsor).

Over 100 divers are expected for this innovative benefit, which will include two-person buddy teams that will be rotated every 30-minutes for a 24-hour period to ensure that there is a continuous presence of divers in the water.

Video will be streamed LIVE from the divers to viewers on land at the MaST Center in Redondo.

“Last year our theme was “Breaking Records” and oh did we!!” reads an announcement on the event website. “Not only have we surpassed our goals both in participation and money raised to benefit Seattle Children’s Hospital Cancer Research, we have made GIANT STRIDES in our efforts! DATC has now raised more than $100,000 for Children’s Cancer Research! Now we are expanding our reach and for the first time, participants will have the option to choose which hospital benefits from their efforts!!”
