‘Chief For A Day’ Event will be at Criminal Justice Training Center Aug. 16

The 2012 “Chief for a Day” event, which is “about celebrating the lives of children who have been diagnosed with a chronic or life-threatening illness” will be held Thursday, Aug. 16 at the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Center, located at 19010 1st Avenue South in Burien.

This event will be open to the public and all are encouraged to attend.

The agenda for the event is as follows:

  • 10:15 a.m.: Arrival of police motorcade
  • 11:00 a.m.: Opening ceremony
  • Noon: Lunch (by donation)
  • 1 – 3 p.m.: Outside demonstrations/presentations

The Normandy Park Police Department will be handling traffic control duties for this event, and citizens can expect traffic disruptions due to a motorcade from Century Link Field to the WSCJTC.

There may also be Helicopters landing at the training center.
